Township. Recycling problems and questions should be directed to the ACUA at
609-272-6950. See calendar for pick up dates.

MUNICIPAL TRASH COLLECTION
2011 BVT Collection Services
COLLECTION ZONES
Zone 1: Route 54 north of Weymouth Road (not including
Weymouth Road) to Newtonville including Buena Acres. Every Tuesday.
Zone 2: All of Collings Lakes and Cains Mill Road to Jackson Road. Including
Lake Ann. Every Wednesday.
Zone 3: Weymouth Road, Route 54 south, Route 40 including Cedar Avenue,
Llewellyn Avenue, Main Avenue, and Old Landis Avenue to Tuckahoe Road (not
including Tuckahoe Road). Every Thursday.
In 2010 New Years and Thanksgiving trash will be collected on Friday.
Zone 4: Tuckahoe Road and South, Milmay and East Vineland. Every Friday.
In 2010 the day after Thanksgiving trash will be collected on Saturday.
TRASH RULES
A. Residents are encouraged to limit their weekly trash to three (3) 32 gallon
containers or the equivalent per collection.
1. Recycling is mandatory. Make sure to separate all recyclable items from your
trash for curbside pick-up. Recycling information is provided in the next column
and is available at Township Hall or on the web at www.acua.com.
2. The B.V.T. Drop-off Center may also be used for disposing of recyclable items
such as: brush, metals, motor oil, and tires. See list in next column. Note: No
trash is accepted at the B.V.T. Drop-off Center.
3. Reuse or donate items such as clothing, good furniture, and old books instead
of just throwing them away.
4. Excess trash will be left until next pick-up date if over the limit. Please
remove excess trash from curb until next pickup.
5. Two tires per week without rims will be picked up at curbside.
6. Trash containers shall be metal or plastic, water tight, have handles, not
exceed 32 gallons and weigh no more than 50 pounds when filled. Plastic bags may
be used in place of containers. Metal drums are not acceptable. Please secure
trash from animals. Loose or non-containered trash will not be picked up.
7. Bulky trash (mattress, couch, furniture) will be collected on your trash day
- limit (2) items per week. Bundles of painted or stained wood should be cut in
four foot lengths and must not weigh more than 50 pounds per bundle.
8.ACUA collects only residential trash. Commercial, industrial, business,
building or demolition projects must provide for their own dumpster and arrange
for pick-up by a private hauler.
9. Placement time: All waste materials set out for collection shall be placed at
curbside no later than 7:00 a.m. on the day of collection and no sooner than
7:00 p.m. on the evening before the day of collection. All empty waste
containers must be removed from curbside by 7:00 p.m. on the day of collection.
10. Trash rule violations carry penalties of a $100.00 - $500.00 fine and/or
community service may be assessed.

ACUA Single Stream Recycling
Information
BLUE ACUA RECYCLING CONTAINERS
The County provides each home in Buena Vista with blue recycling containers. All
containers are the property of the ACUA and are to be used only for acceptable
recycling items. Any trash placed in the blue containers will not be removed by
the ACUA. Contact the ACUA for replacement containers 1-800-613-2282 (there
maybe a cost for additional containers). Blue containers purchased at retail
stores may also be used.
B.V.T. RECYCLING DROP-OFF CENTER
The center is open to all B.V.T. residents - proof required.
Location - Township Public Works Facility-Oak & Union Roads, East Vineland
Open - FIRST Saturday of each month* 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 Noon

RECYCLING DROP-OFF CENTER RULES
• Center is for normal residential use.
• No household trash - (it is only collected curbside).
• No construction or demolition materials accepted.
• No business materials.
• No shingles, painted, stained or treated wood.
• No houses, barns, sheds or wooden fences.
• No batteries, hazardous materials, paint, or aerosol cans
• No cement
• Recyclable items must be presorted and ready for disposal.
• The Township reserves the right to limit quantities and to refuse unacceptable
items.
• You must unload yourself.
• NO TIPPING.
• Construction/Demolition materials may be taken to the Atlantic County Trash
Transfer Station in
Egg Harbor Township for disposal (fees applicable).
• Hazardous Household Waste Disposal Dates are established by ACUA each year.

CURBSIDE LEAF MACHINE COLLECTION PROGRAM
Our curbside leaf machine collection will be done during the months of November,
December and April. This collection will be done only in Cedar Gardens, DeRosa
Drive, Country Club area, and Collings Lakes sections of the Township. Dates
will be announced in October and posted on Channel 9, our website, and via
flyers. All leaves must be raked to the curb by the first date announced for
leaf machine pickup in the above areas. Schedule is subject to change with
weather conditions. All other times of the year leaves must be bagged and placed
at the curb for regular yard waste collection provided by the ACUA

Non-curbside leaf Collection or Brush AREAS
Residents are required to phone our Public Works Department (856) 692-4121 to
arrange for pick-up service for leaves, brush, and yard waste so that it may be
scheduled in advance for pick-up. There are no pick-ups in February, July or
August. Residents with leaves and brush in the Curbside Leaf Collection Program
areas (above) do not need to call for pick-up.
HOLIDAY TRASH AND RECYCLING COLLECTION DAYS
Trash and recycling collections days that fall on certain holidays may change
the regular pick-up schedule. Changes for 2011 for trash collection are noted

CHRISTMAS TREE RECYCLING
The ACUA will collect trees curbside on January 7th and 21st, 2011.
ATLANTIC COUNTY DUMP HOTLINE
