"Friends of Buena Vista Township" are needed to help the Special Events Committee.  As a 'friend' you can volunteer to work at the event(s) of your choice.  You are not obligated to attend any special events meetings but you may be invited to a meeting to receive information on the event you've signed up to work.

Events that are held throughout the year are listed below.  Read the information and choose the event(s) you are interested in working.  You will be notified well in advance of the event.

On behalf of the Special Events Committee, thank you for your consideration in becoming a "friend".  Volunteers such as yourself are vital to the success of our events and we deeply appreciate your generosity.

Note:  You will receive a copy of the 2006 Buena Vista Township calendar with all event dates listed.  Richland Village events may not all be listed in the calendar but we will issue a separate list.

Held at:    Michael Debbi Park, Cedar Avenue, Richland
Start:        12:00 noon
End:         Approximately 2:30 pm
Volunteers needed to:
                        Hide Easter Eggs
                        Lead groups to designated egg hunt areas
                        Gather winners at the gazebo area
                        Dress up in the Easter Bunny costume

Held at:     Michael Debbi Park, Cedar Avenue, Richland
Start:        3:00 pm
Ends:        After fireworks display, approximately 9:30 pm
Volunteers needed to:
                           Decorate park
                           Set up gazebo
                           Set up trophies in gazebo
                           Set up Special Events Booth
                           Work in assigned areas

Held at:    Michael Debbi Park, Cedar Avenue, Richland
Start:        7:00 pm
End:         9:00 pm
Volunteers needed to:
                            Set up refreshment booth
                            Make Coffee
                            Make sure soda and water are cold
                            Put out sugar, cream, napkins, stirrers
                            Serve desserts
Note:    There may be a Saturday concert.  During inclement weather, concert is held at the Richland Fire Hall on Main Avenue in Richland.

Held at:    Buena Vista Country Club, Country Club Lane, Buena
Start:        6:30 pm
End:        Approximately 11:00 pm
Volunteers needed to:
                            Get gift donations for the Chinese Auction
                            Set up Chinese Auction
                            Set up table arrangements
                            Take reservations at the door
                            Sell tickets for the Chinese Auction
                            Help with Chinese Auction drawings

Held at:    Township Hall
Start:        6:30 pm
End:        Approximately 8:30 pm
Volunteers needed to:
                            Gather gifts for Christmas stockings
                            Set up refreshment table
                            Make coffee and hot chocolate
                            Serve refreshments

Held at:    Each event to be determined

                            To be determined at a later time
