Township Applies For Richland Corridor Project Grant, TEA-21

The Township has once again applied for the TEA-21 grant in an effort to make significant improvements to the downtown area of Richland along US Route 40 between Main and Cedar Avenues.

The intent of the project is to identify the Richland area along US Route 40 as a “Town Center” with a historic feel to it while creating safe pedestrian movement through the use of concrete curbing, decorative sidewalks, shade trees, “old time” lighting and benches.

The project would also include the construction of an attractive bus stop and parking at the intersection of US Route 40 and Main Avenue.  This bus stop would include the construction of a decorative shelter for tourists and commuters which will include historic plaques reviewing the history of Buena Vista Township and the Richland area.
