TOWNSHIP BRIEFS….

WHAT’S HAPPENING IN BVT

 ·        Approval has finally been received from the State Department of Transportation for the line striping of 8^th Street and Pancoast Mill Road.  These roads were paved in the year 2000 State Road Aid Programs. The work is now complete.

 ·        The Township has completed the re-lining of Cains Mill Road and Jackson Road from the bridge in Collings Lakes to Route 54.

 ·        The Township has applied to the State of New Jersey for special State Road Aid Grants for Ruth Street, Pancoast Mill Road (phase II from the Lake to Richland) and Oak Road from Route 40 to Tuckahoe Road. The fate of the projects will not be known until late fall.

 ·        New restrooms are now complete at Michael Debbi Park in Richland. The facilities are funded through Open Space Grants with Atlantic County.

 ·        Atlantic County has completed the re-paving of Central Avenue between Oak Road and Buena Borough.

 ·        Atlantic County is now starting work to re-pave Tuckahoe Road (AC Route 557) from Cranberry Run to Five Points in East Vineland. New drainage work is also being done.  Additional sections of Tuckahoe Road will be paved in 2002.

 ·        Repaving work will begin soon on Post Road between Tuckahoe and Union Roads in East Vineland as part of Buena Vista’s 2001 State Aid Program.
