Township plans Memorial to Former Mayor Sam Brunozzi at Park

Buena Vista Township recently suffered a major lose on the passing of Former Mayor Sam Brunozzi.  Sam served our community in many ways and now the Township Committee and Special Events Committee will be paying special recognition on Sunday, July 1, 2001.

As part of our 13th annual Independence Day Festival, the main driveway at the Michael Debbi Park will be renamed “Sam Brunozzi Way”.  This will be done at the end of our 5:00 p.m. program at the day long celebration on July 1st.

The Brunozzi family has donated a Victorian style street lamp, which will be placed at the entrance of the park across from the Michael Debbi recreational park sign.  The street lamp will feature a sign and a cutout of the famous cowboy hat that symbolizes Sam and his business, Brunozzi Trucking.  Our Public Works Director, Joan Dickerson is working on a special landscaped project at the park entrance, which will feature a park bench, concrete pad and shrubbery to enhance the new street lamp.  The lamp will be lighted and serve as another attraction as well as a Memorial to our main township park in Richland.

Please mark your calendars to join us for this very special dedication!
