The Buena Historical Society recently sponsored their 2^nd Annual Art Auction on September 28, 2001 at Buena Camping World in Buena.

The art auction was a wonderful success. Marlin Art of Deer Park, New York conducted the auction, which included art in all media and price ranges. Door and raffle prizes, along with a wonderful array of food, wine and flowers were provided. The Boy Scouts of America Troop #10 also helped with the auction.

The Guest of Honor was Dolores "Mesiano" Comparri, our own Buena Vista Township resident. Most of us know Dolores, for all of her work and fund raising efforts for the Township’s Special Events Committee. Dolores epitomizes volunteerism and is truly a "history" maker.

The Buena Historical Society was established to preserve the history of Buena Vista Township and Buena Borough. The Society is currently collecting information, pictures, artifacts and stories about our area and the people who made Buena Vista Township and the surrounding communities their home.
