A group of community leaders from Buena Borough, Buena Vista Township and surrounding areas have joined to honor Dr. Delmo Mattioli at a testimonial dinner.

The event will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30 at Merighi's Savoy Inn.

Dr. Mattioli has served the local area for more than 50 years and has treated everyone, regardless of their ability to pay. He opened his practice in Buena Borough in 1948 and joined the medical staff at Newcomb Hospital in Vineland.

He served as president of the medical staff for two years and served on many committees over the years at the hospital.

Mattioli, 84, retired from his practice a few years ago. In conjunction with the testimonial dinner, a road in Buena was named Dr. Delmo Mattioli Way. The dedication took place Oct. 27.

Tickets for the dinner are $45. Proceeds will go toward scholarships for graduates of Buena Regional High School and St. Augustine Preparatory School who are seeking medical degrees. Call Betty Testa at (856) 691-3600 daytime, (856) 697-0970 evenings or Evelyn Laguna at (856) 697-0351.
