BUENA VISTA TOWNSHIP - A juvenile was shot and wounded Wednesday while target
shooting with three other juveniles in the Milmay section, State Police said.
The four were shooting aluminum cans with a .22-caliber rifle in the back yard
of a High Street home when the incident occurred about 5:12 p.m., State Police
at the Buena Vista station said.
One juvenile fired the rifle into the ground, police said. That round apparently
ricocheted from an object in the ground and struck another juvenile in the
ankle.
The Dorothy Rescue Squad took the injured youth to the South Jersey
Hospital-Newcomb in Vineland, where he was treated and released, police said.
Police withheld the youths' names because they are minors.
Trooper Daniel Torres is continuing an investigation into the shooting, police
said. Charges may be pending.
