Buena Vista Township’s Special Events Committee presented The 1^st Annual Comedy Relief Gala Extravaganza Nite on September 29, 2001 at the Buena Tavern in Buena.

Comedy Works Entertainment, hosted by Emcee and comedian Joey Novick presented a fun-filled hilarious evening, which featured the comedy talent of Max Dolcelli and headline performer Eddie Clark. The event included a diverse performance from all three comedians and was a huge success for the over 200 guests in attendance.

A buffet dinner and desserts were provided by Sunday Simons of the Buena Tavern. Door prizes, raffle prizes and a small Chinese Auction were held to raise funds for the event.

Five hundred dollars of the proceeds from the event, along with $500.00 raised from the Chinese Auction, plus an additional $90 which was donated by one of the prize winners, will be donated to a disaster relief fund. That’s a total of $1,090.00 going to the New York Firefighters 9-11 Disaster Relief Fund.

Due to the huge success of the event, the Buena Vista Township’s Special Events Committee is already considering future plans for the 2^nd Annual Buena Vista Comedy Relief Extravaganza Nite. Stay tuned for more information!
