The Atlantic County Department of Public Works has made repairs on the bridge on Cains Mill Road over Lake Branch near the fire hall. The bridge had a general settlement with the pavement breaking up slightly along the interface. The settlement can be contributed to disturbances caused during construction. Moderate and minor erosion in various areas was also determined.

As a result, the Atlantic County Department of Public Works removed approximately two feet of pavement along the entire width of the roadway at both approaches and repaved it for a smooth transition. Additionally, the areas of erosion are scheduled to be filled and covered with rock protection to prevent any future erosion.

The concern was brought to the county’s attention by Deputy Mayor Teresa Kelly.
