SPRING LEAF COLLECTION SCHEDULE
COLLINGS LAKES, CEDAR GARDENS, DEROSA DRIVE & COUNTRY CLUB
ONE TIME PICK-UP OF BULK LEAVES STARTING MAY 7, 2012
All leaves must be raked to the curb. No bagged leaves will be accepted. Leaves with yard waste and other debris mixed in will NOT be accepted. To insure collection, leaves must be curbside on the first scheduled day of collection. Dates may vary slightly due to weather conditions.
Two Memorial Day Services will be held on Sunday, May 27, 2012 in Buena Vista Township. The first service is at 11 am in Richland at Saw Mill Park on Route 40 and Fir Avenue. The second service is at 12 noon at the Memorial in front of the Milmay Volunteer Fire Company on Broad Street (Rt. 552) just off of Tuckahoe Road.
The Township Municipal Building will be closed for Memorial Day on Monday, May 28, 2012.
New Kuban will hold their Semi-Annual BBQ on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at the New Kuban Historic Museum on Don Road just off of Weymouth Road in Buena from 12 noon to 6 pm. Their other BBQ will take place on Sunday, September 2nd at the same time and location!
Richland Village Community Yard Sale and Free Outdoor Antique Toy Show – 20 + Vendors on Saturday, June 9th
There will be a Richland Village Community Yard Sale (see next paragraph). It’s A Toy Store will be holding a FREE Outdoor Toy Show with at least 20 vendors for “Customer Appreciation Day” on Saturday, June 9, 2012 from 9 am to 3 pm. Toy dealers will be set up outside around the store celebrating It’s A Toy Store’s 4th Anniversary. There will be free hamburgers, hot dogs, admission, and free parking. This has been a great event during the past three years and well worth your time. For more information call 856-302-3606 or www.toyshows.org.
On the same day, there will be a Community Yard Sale (Saturday, June 9, 2012) along Route 40 in Richland Village. A spot is $10 and everyone is welcome to participate. This is a great time of year to clean out closets, attics, basements and garages. Gather it all up, bring it to the yard sale and make some extra cash to buy more stuff! All are welcome to attend. You never know what treasures you will find. The sale runs from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Call Joan in the Mayor’s Office at 856-697-2100 or 609-561-5650 extension 8 for an application.
The Patcong Valley Model Railroaders will also be open on Saturday, June 9, 2012
Join the Wilcox family for the 9th Annual Run4Ricky to support the Ricky Wilcox Scholarship Fund in memory of Buena Regional High School wrestler Ricky Wilcox. The Run4Ricky 5K Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run will be Saturday, June 9, 2012. The event will be held at the Wilcox home at 274 Friendship Road (behind Buena Regional High School). Registration begins at 8 am. There will be a Community BBQ immediately following from 12 noon to 5 pm at the Michael Debbi Park (Cedar Avenue in Richland). All proceeds benefit the Ricky Wilcox Scholarship Fund. For more information and registration go to www.run4ricky.org or call 856-697-9125.

Jersey Mustang Club Classic Car Show Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 30, 2012 for the 4th Annual Classic Car Show in Richland Village from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The South Jersey Mustang Club and Buena Vista Township Special Events Committee have joined together for this exciting event. The show is open to all American Classic Cars and includes DJ music, food, crafters/attic treasures and lots and lots of shiny, classic cars.
If you are interested in participating, contact Marvin Askins at 856-697-6306 or Dennis Dase at 856-697-8692 to register your vehicle or call Dolores Comparri at 856-697-1482 for information on a crafter spot.
So come out and enjoy the afternoon; check out some great classic cars, enjoy music of another era, visit the local merchants and taste the local cuisine. We'll be waiting for you!

Buena Vista to Have a Blast on July 7th
Our 24th Annual Independence Day Celebration starts at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 7th (rain date Saturday, July 14th) with a Fire Truck and EMS Parade throughout the Township. From 3 pm till fireworks at dusk activities will be held at Michael Debbi Park in Richland. There will be music by DJ Nicky G, a Classic Car and Truck Show, along with fun and games for the kids. There will be great food and beverages all day, as well, as firemen’s water barrel fights, crafters, displays, and plenty more. So mark you calendar and come join us -- we have one of the best fireworks displays around and it is a great day for the whole family. The event is sponsored by the Buena Vista Township Special Events Committee.
Crafters Wanted for Independence Day Celebration
Sign up now! Crafters needed for the 24th Annual Independence Day Celebration to be held on Saturday, July 7, 2012 (rain date Saturday, July 14th). If you are interested in setting up a table the fee is $20 (you must bring your own table, chair and shade).
